We are pleased to announce Matthew Todd as the new Assistant Superintendent of Finance

Bland Independent School District is pleased to announce the hiring of Matthew Todd as Assistant Superintendent of Finance. 

 

Mr. Matthew Todd holds a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University - Commerce, a master’s degree from Texas A&M University - Commerce, and received his superintendent certification through the University of North Texas.

 

Mr. Todd has a total of 18 years of experience in education, all in Blue Ridge ISD. For the past two years, he has served as Assistant Superintendent of Operations and Student Services. Prior to that, he served four years as Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Federal Programs, and Special Programs, three years as Elementary Principal, two years as Elementary Assistant Principal, and seven years as a High School math teacher and coach.

 

During that time, Mr. Todd assisted in the passage of a $25 million bond election, building of a new elementary school, agricultural education barns, athletic fieldhouse, and renovations from a tornado that caused an estimated $15 million in damage to district facilities. He also assisted in the expansion of the district’s Career and Technical Education opportunities for students, led rapid academic improvements at Blue Ridge Elementary, and assisted in Blue Ridge High School being named a National Blue Ribbon School as math department chair. 

 

Mr. Todd currently serves on the Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA) Small Schools Network design team, which showcases innovative educational practices in districts all across the state of Texas. He is also in his second term as a Texas A&M University - Commerce alumni board member. In 2021, Mr. Todd was recognized by the Texas Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) as a Curriculum Leadership Academy Fellow. 

 

Mr. Todd has been married to his wife, Laura, for 16 years. They have two children, Mattilynn and Makayla. The family resides on a farm in Frognot, and they attend First Baptist Church in Farmersville.
